Mountains and Remote Temples

Head out of Siem Reap and travel through pretty villages and across ancient and long dry reservoirs to visit the finely carved temple of Banteay Srei.  Continue to the sacred Kulen Mountains and admire the waterfalls, where you might want to go for a swim and seek relief from the lowland heat.  After lunch we continue further to the jungle clad Beng Mealea, an important temple considered a blueprint for Angkor Wat.

Kompong Phluk
(margins of the great lake)

Using a combination of road vehicles, motorised boats, canoes and motos we set out to visit the fishing communities on the margins of the great lake. We begin at a local market - vibrant, colourful and full of exotic aromas. Then we visit the earliest, and extremely beautiful, group of temples in the Angkor lowland capital.  At the end of the day, relax on the deck of the wooden boat before enjoying a water blessing from the monks.

Best of Rural Cambodia
(Markets, ox carts and remote temples)

Get away from the crowds and explore rural Cambodia with a friendly local by your side.  Begin at the Psa Leu market – large, noisy, and colourful – buy snakes and salted crickets or simply observe the rhythm of Khmer life.  You will continue on towards the remote jungle temple of Beng Mealea.  Then, finish the day with an ox-cart ride to Prey Monti and the beautiful Bakong temple to listen to the monks at prayer.
